Lisbon | urban snapshots

Driving from the center of Lisbon to the 1998 Lisbon World Expo Site, cruising through a peri-urban area, then along the river Tagus to end up in the heart of the Expo site. The World’s Fair was held in Lisbon from May 22 to September 30, 1998. The theme of the fair was “The Oceans, a Heritage for the Future,” chosen in part to commemorate 500 years of Portuguese discoveries. Built from scratch on an 50 hectares site, ten years later this area is a bustling part, slightly on the edge of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
